Red Storm, the studio behind Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon, has seen a reduction in workforce, affecting 19 of its staff members, as part of broader cost-cutting measures at Ubisoft.

According to a report from IGN, these layoffs are consistent with Ubisoft's "targeted restructuring and global cost-saving efforts."

Despite the challenging nature of this choice, Ubisoft stated, "this was required to meet our operational priorities." They have pledged ongoing support for the affected staff, including comprehensive severance packages, continued health benefits, and assistance with career transition.

"Their hard work and contributions to Ubisoft have been significant," the company added.

Ubisoft confirmed that these layoffs were confined to Red Storm and did not affect any other studio locations.

Red Storm, which was founded by Tom Clancy and Doug Littlejohns in 1996, initially operated as Red Storm Entertainment before its acquisition by Ubisoft in 2000.

Previously, in August 2024, Red Storm experienced personnel reductions, along with Ubisoft’s San Francisco office, as detailed by GamesIndustry.biz.
