Epic Games has dropped its claims against Samsung regarding the problematic installation of apps from the mobile EGS
Last fall, Epic Games accused Samsung of colluding with Google. Allegedly, the smartphone manufacturer made it more difficult to install apps from third-party sources on its devices in order to protect Google Play from competition. Almost a year later, the conflict has been resolved.

The head of Epic Games, Tim Sweeney, wrote on X that his company has withdrawn the lawsuit against Samsung. He did not provide details, merely stating that Samsung will take into account the comments directed at it.
As a reminder, the main complaint from Epic Games concerned an auto-blocking function that prevents the installation of apps from unauthorized stores. In particular, it does not allow games to be downloaded from the Epic Games Store.
Sweeney proposed two solutions to Samsung:
- remove the auto-blocking from the default features list;
- make the process of whitelisting stores by Samsung more transparent.
It is unknown if Samsung agreed to any of these options.
