MTS has become a game developer. Its first projects will be released on Telegram
MTS has decided to venture into game development. The company announced the launch of a new division dedicated to this endeavor.
In a conversation with the newspaper "RBC," the head of the division, Albert Ginovker, mentioned that the debut project will be a collection of five casual mini-games for children called "Kiba." It will be distributed via Telegram.
Later, MTS plans to release a game for an adult audience, but the company is not ready to reveal details about it yet. Ginovker noted only that it will also be available on Telegram and eventually on mobile stores.
As explained by MTS, the company focused on Telegram partly because of the messenger's popularity among children. Additionally, creating mini-games for the platform is faster than developing full-fledged applications for mobile stores.
This is not MTS's first foray into the gaming market. Over the past three years, for instance, it launched the cloud gaming service Fog Play, the mobile store AppBazar (however, its development has been discontinued), and its own console.
