The creators of Dying Light set a new record for annual losses

The year 2024 became the worst in Techland's history from a financial standpoint, according to Puls Biznesu, citing the company's report. Its net losses reached 135.2 million zlotys ($37.5 million).

Dying Light: The Beast

By comparison, in 2023 the creators of Dying Light reported a net loss of 92.9 million zlotys ($25.77 million). At the time, this was also a record.

Techland's annual operating losses increased by 74% to 172.7 million zlotys ($47.9 million). As for revenue, it has been declining for the second consecutive year. This time revenue decreased by 41.8% to 173.9 million zlotys ($48.23 million).

Reportedly, part of Techland’s losses is linked to the write-off of expenses due to the cancellation of two projects: a game and an expansion with the codenames Projekt (game) and Projekty (game expansions), respectively. Online sources speculate that the canceled game includes a fantasy RPG that was being developed by former CD PROJEKT members.

Meanwhile, Techland’s staff increased from 394 to 424 people by the end of 2024. Whether there were any layoffs in the company in 2025 remains unknown.
