The Cairn demo reached 500,000 downloads—partly thanks to the creators of Peak
The Game Bakers studio, known for games like Furi and Haven, is preparing to release the mountaineering simulator Cairn. Recently, it reached a significant milestone. The number of demo downloads for Cairn in Steam and PlayStation Store has surpassed half a million.
As noted by the portal PC Gamer, a small contribution to promoting the Cairn demo came from the popularity of Peak, a new game on the same theme. At the end of last week, The Game Bakers published a short video in which the protagonist of Cairn carries a Bing-Bong toy from Peak in his backpack. On the same day, the video was shared on their X account by Landfall studio, one of the two creators of Peak. They tweeted the clip with the caption "Cairn might be peak," wishing the game's creators success. Soon after these exchanges, it became known about the 500,000 downloads.
The release of Cairn is scheduled for November 5th. Currently, the demo has 99% positive reviews on Steam based on 5.9 thousand reviews, and the game is ranked 72nd on the top wishlist in the store.
