The UK Pavilion at the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka will feature a presentation from the National Videogame Museum.
Held from July 18 to July 24, the exhibition titled 'Videogames Transforming Lives' will include interactive elements that hightlight the UK's excellence in creating inclusive and pioneering video games.
Among the highlights is a collaboration with SpecialEffect, a UK-based charity, showcasing EyeMine 2. This technology allows individuals with physical disabilities to engage with Minecraft using eye-tracking software.
A curated selection of titles from the museum, including PowerWash Simulator and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, will underline the creativity and talent found within the UK's gaming scene.
Additionally, visitors can enjoy an immersive experience featuring prominent visuals from Monument Valley by Ustwo, with opportunities to play the game.
"Video games hold a significant place in UK culture and the economy, and we have a notable global presence," stated John O'Shea, creative director and co-CEO of the National Videogame Museum.
"Our country is home to iconic titles like Grand Theft Auto and Tomb Raider, and we are at the forefront of promoting inclusivity in gaming.
"At the National Videogame Museum, our philosophy is that video games are for everyone. They've become essential to our social structure, fostering connections and communities. We're excited to convey this at Expo 2025 in Osaka."
UK business and trade minister Gareth Thomas remarked:
"The National Videogame Museum's exhibition is a deeply engaging experience, showing the cutting-edge nature of the UK's gaming sector that captivates players worldwide, a true beacon of British innovation.
