Apple requested to replace the judge in its legal proceedings with Epic Games in the U.S
As promised, Apple Corporation filed an appeal against the decision of the US court in its case with Epic Games. It demanded not only the reversal of the prohibitions imposed in May but also requested that the case be reassigned to a different judge should it be reconsidered in the California district court.

According to Apple, Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers, who has been handling the case since 2020, would find it "difficult to discard previously expressed views and conclusions." Additionally, a change of judge is desired to ensure fair justice.
Apple also described the spring verdict as excessively harsh. It is worth recalling that, among other things, they were prohibited from charging commissions on purchases outside the App Store and from obstructing users from navigating to third-party platforms through apps. In the appeal, Apple stated that its actions did not violate the law, and the new prohibitions went far beyond the initial decision of the court in 2021.
It is noteworthy that in May, Gonzalez Rogers accused Apple of contempt of court, which subjects the corporation to potential legal proceedings in the US.
