The publisher made this announcement on social media, though the exact location within Tokyo remains unspecified.

According to a report by VGC, there is an expectation that the Sega Store Tokyo will be situated in the Shibuya Parco complex, where other popular stores like Capcom Store Tokyo, Pokémon Center Shibuya, and Nintendo Tokyo are located.

Visitors have noticed signs of construction using Sega's typography, indicating the store's development in the complex.

Justin Scarpone, Sega's head of global transmedia, previously mentioned to VGC that the Tokyo store is slated to open in the summer of 2025, with plans for additional locations in Shanghai, China.

Scarpone emphasized the importance of bolstering the Sega brand, stating, "We're deeply committed to enhancing our brand presence. While Sonic is prominent, Sega itself isn't as visible at retail. We're addressing this with a new store in Tokyo's Parco next summer, and a similar venture in Shanghai, facilitated by a partner."

VGC highlighted Sega's strong retail performance, noting that the company "achieves nearly $1 billion in annual sales from toys, apparel, and other merchandise."
