An animated adaptation of Death Stranding is currently in active development

Kojima Productions is teaming up with Line Mileage, an animation studio, to create a new animated film inspired by the Death Stranding universe.
The production involves screenwriter Aaron Guzikowski, who is known for the series Raised By Wolves on HBO Max and the thriller Prisoners directed by Denis Villeneuve. The project has commenced development.
This film will feature a new storyline, distinct from the plot of the 2019 video game.
Guzikowski expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, "The world of Death Stranding is incredibly creative, beautifully dark yet hopeful. It's an honor and a privilege to explore this universe crafted by Hideo Kojima and bring new narratives to life within it."
Line Mileage, though a newer entity in animation and post-production, has team members who contributed to Netflix's animated series such as Castlevania, Blood of Zeus, and Tomb Raider.
This animated endeavor is not linked to A24's forthcoming adaptation of Death Stranding, which will be directed by Michael Sarnoski, known for A Quiet Place: Day One.
The sequel game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, is scheduled to release for PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025.
