The IRI will spend 3.4 billion rubles to support Russian games over the next three years

During his speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025, the CEO of the Internet Development Institute (IRI), Alexey Goreslavsky, disclosed the amount that his organization will allocate to game developers in 2025-2027. It will be 3.4 billion rubles.

Game developers will receive 3.4 billion rubles from IRI in 2025-27

“Saturn. Legacy”

A little over half — 1.9 billion rubles — will be allocated by IRI to 13 teams that recently won the national content competition. Among them are the creators of games such as "Gardariki" and "Saturn. Legacy."

Goreslavsky noted that IRI has been increasing its investment in games. In 2024, the amount allocated for developer support was 1.5 billion rubles. He acknowledged that these figures are relatively small on a global scale; nevertheless, they are sufficient to ensure that a significant number of domestic games emerge on the market by 2030.

Currently, IRI is particularly interested in indie teams. The institute sees potential in their development amidst the global stagnation of the AAA game segment.
