Another game studio has closed its doors. The Scottish team Cobra Mobile, known for the early App Store hit iBomber, has announced its shutdown.

In an interview with The Courier, Cobra Mobile founder Mark Ettle shared that the studio faced a series of issues. Primarily, its operations were hindered by the crisis in the gaming industry — at least a few Cobra Mobile partners went bankrupt, leaving the studio "in massive debt." Additionally, the recent passing of Cobra Mobile chairman Peter Mackintosh further impacted the company.
It is reported that eight employees remained at the studio at the time of its closure.
Cobra Mobile was established in 2005. For the majority of its existence, it specialized in mobile games, though it periodically released projects for PC and Nintendo Switch. Apart from iBomber, its portfolio includes games such as Red’s Kingdom, What Everyone’s Playing, Towers of Everland, and the Cobi series. Over the years, several Cobra Mobile games were nominated for the BAFTA award.
