This autumn, Apple plans to roll out its latest gaming app, Apple Games, for its comprehensive suite of devices. This announcement was made at the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference, highlighting that the app will merge the functionalities of the Game Center with the gaming area of the App Store. Additionally, it provides seamless access to Apple Arcade, their gaming subscription service.
The newly introduced app is labeled by Apple as a comprehensive gaming hub where users can explore current gaming trends, find new games, and play with friends. The app will retain Game Center features such as achievements, challenges, leaderboards, and other multi-user functionalities.
Scheduled to be pre-installed on devices running iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and MacOS 26 or newer, the Apple Games app is already in its beta stage, with a full release slated for later this year.
In a report last month, Bloomberg highlighted Apple's plans to introduce a specialized app dedicated to video games on its devices. This app is positioned as a launchpad for games designed to consolidate in-game achievements and leaderboards.
