Doug Jung, known for his role as a writer for "Star Trek Beyond," has been announced as the showrunner for Amazon's upcoming Mass Effect series

Doug Jung, known for his work on Star Trek Beyond, has been named as the showrunner for Amazon Prime's adaptation of Mass Effect.
Deadline revealed that Jung will also take on the role of executive producer for the project. Previously, he has held the position of executive producer and showrunner for Apple TV+'s Chief of War, with additional credits in Mindhunter, Banshee, and Big Love.
Joining him will be writer and executive producer Dan Casey. Other executive producers include Electronic Arts' Michael Gamble, Cedar Tree Productions' Karim Zreik, and Arad Productions' Ari Arad and Emmy Tu.
Amazon approved the Mass Effect series last November, which was when Casey's participation was initially announced.
The streaming service has already experienced substantial success with its adaptation of the Fallout series, achieving remarkable viewership and securing a renewal for a third season after a strong start with the second season, set to release later this year.
