Sony has taken steps toward developing its proprietary fight stick.

During PlayStation's State of Play event on June 4, Sony introduced the wireless fight stick, codenamed Project Defiant. Expected to launch in 2026, no pricing details have yet been disclosed.

In a statement, Edwin Foo, VP for product development, mentioned that "Project Defiant boasts a premium digital stick, uniquely crafted by Sony Interactive Entertainment," highlighting features on the PlayStation Blog.

"This controller includes toolless interchangeable restrictor gates—square, circle, and octagon—enhanced with mechanical switch buttons, and incorporates a touch pad akin to the DualSense wireless controller. Its robust and ergonomic construction is designed for comfortable, high-intensity gaming experiences," Foo elaborated.

The controller offers storage for restrictor gates and a PS Link USB adapter for easy handling and portability. Users can also power on the PS5 wirelessly with a press and hold of the PS button."

Details about the official name and precise release date are expected to be announced shortly.
