Nintendo Switch 2 consoles report damage after a retailer affixes receipts to the exterior packaging with staples

Nintendo Switch 2 purchasers are encountering issues as receipts are being stapled to the front of console boxes, leading to screen damage.

IGN has highlighted numerous social media posts from affected buyers who claim that the stapling has caused irreparable harm to their devices. Most reports are coming from the U.S., specifically from people who bought the consoles at GameStop.

While GameStop faces criticism, some consumers are also wondering why Nintendo's packaging does not offer more robust protection, as the screen is inadequately cushioned for shipping.

A GameStop representative told IGN, "We are investigating the matter and will make customers whole," yet shortages suggest it may take weeks or even months for customers to receive replacement units.

Earlier this week, news surfaced that prominent U.S. retailers have started notifying purchasers that their Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders have been canceled shortly before the official launch.
