Empty Vessel has successfully closed its Series A funding round, securing $11 million.

The Texas-based game studio, Empty Vessel, has successfully completed its Series A financing, bringing the total amount raised to $11 million, although the exact amount from its seed round remains undisclosed.
Leading this round of investment were NCSoft and 1AM Gaming, with participation from Black Phoenix Games, Anurup Joseph, Sebastiaan Hejne, and original backers such as Sisu Game Ventures, Raptor Group, and Compute.
The newly obtained funds are earmarked for the ongoing development of Empty Vessel's first project, Defect. These resources will allow for expansion in staffing, console production, and enhancement of single-player functionalities.
Emanuel Palalic, the CEO and game director, expressed satisfaction stating, “Our developer-first strategy has captured the interest of fans and partners like NCSoft and other investors.” He emphasized that the investment will boost their efforts in pioneering a new genre within the FPS market and facilitate expansion across various gaming platforms.
Furthermore, Jeonghee "JJ" Jin, who holds roles as CEO, NC America, and COO, NC West, remarked, "The unique approach of Empty Vessel towards game design and user engagement quickly convinced us of the promise held by Defect, and we are excited to support its future development."
In May, NCSoft made a "strategic equity investment" in Empty Vessel, affirming its commitment to supporting the studio's growth.
