Warhorse Studios, the developers behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, are set to open a new office in Brno

Czech gaming developer Warhorse Studios, known for the Kingdom Come: Deliverance RPG series, is launching a new development branch in Brno.

The facility will start operations on July 1, 2025, under the leadership of Petr Kolář, who was previously with Ashborne Studios, recognized for the game Last Train Home. Ashborne and Warhorse recently worked together on the Brushes with Death DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Established in Prague, Warhorse views this expansion as a strategic step to enhance its development capabilities and nurture local gaming talent within the Czech Republic.

"The Brno office amplifies Warhorse's ability to handle multiple projects concurrently," stated Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, communications director at Warhorse, to GamesIndustry.biz.

He added that the aim is not solely increased speed but also to support the creation of more complex projects without sacrificing quality. Initially, the new team will support the ongoing development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and its additional content.

Brno is a city with a rich gaming development history, housing notable companies like Bohemia Interactive, GIANTS Software, and Hangar 13, and it was the birthplace of the Mafia game series from 2K.

Stolz-Zwilling emphasizes Brno's deep talent pool and experience in the gaming industry, along with access to skilled professionals and academic resources as key factors for selecting the location.

Kolář remarked on his anticipation of integrating Ashborne's achievements and spirit into Warhorse Studios, expressing enthusiasm about his new role and upcoming projects from Brno.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, launched earlier this year, has been met with critical praise and robust sales, moving over 3 million units. Its predecessor, which debuted in 2017, has achieved sales of more than 10 million copies globally.
