Tara Mustapha has been revealed as the closing keynote speaker for Develop:Brighton 2025
Code Coven's CEO, Tara Mustapha, has been selected to deliver the final keynote address at the upcoming Develop:Brighton conference.
In her session, titled 'Build What You Have: Rethinking Studio Sustainability in 2025,' Mustapha will explore strategies for developing sustainable and inclusive game studios amidst uncertain times.
As the founder of Code Coven, she has been instrumental in assisting underrepresented game developers by providing a platform to enhance their skills through a global accelerator and academy.
GamesIndustry.biz conducted an interview with Mustapha on Code Coven's mission as part of the London Games Festival's Ensemble initiative.
"I'm excited to keynote at Develop:Brighton," expressed Mustapha. "During times that feel challenging, it's important to remember the passion we have for games and how we can create studios that foster this enjoyment for both creators and players."
According to the conference organizers, "Tara is a distinguished founder, game developer, and strategic advisor. With over twenty years in the gaming world, she has contributed to major titles such as the Skate franchise. Tara is celebrated for her visionary leadership and dedication to transforming the industry to nurture creative brilliance."
Mustapha will address the conference alongside Remedy's creative director, Sam Lake, who was announced in April as the inaugural keynote speaker. Lake's session will delve into Remedy's three decades of storytelling.
Additionally, MachineGames' Jen Andersson and Pete Ward will host a discussion on their hit, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Andersson shared insights with GamesIndustry.biz about crafting this Indiana Jones adventure.
The Develop:Star Awards 2025 finalists were revealed last month, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle gaining the most nominations, including Best Game.
This year's recipient of the Develop Star Award will be Lake, who remarked it as "a tremendous honor."
Other prominent speakers include professionals from Ustwo Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment, No More Robots, Ukie, Kepler Interactive, Google, BAFTA, The Chinese Room, Surgent Studios, Massive Entertainment, Criterion, Safe in Our World, and Insomniac Games.
The Develop:Brighton event is scheduled to be held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole from Tuesday, July 8 to Thursday, July 10.
