Tango Gameworks has introduced its new branding and announced that it is developing a new action game

Tango Gameworks has announced progress on a new action title that has yet to be disclosed.

With the revamp of its website and brand identity, Tango Gameworks disclosed new job opportunities at its Tokyo location, seeking talent across "nearly every department."

The team expressed, "After months of anticipation, Tango Gameworks has returned with a fresh approach. We've launched our site to offer a glimpse into our studio for both supporters and potential collaborators. The site provides insights into our studio philosophy and showcases stories from our team members."

"Our game development vision is of a studio functioning as a creative hub, delivering games and experiences that emphasize the 'hand-crafted' quality inherent in our work."

Microsoft revealed plans to close four of Bethesda's studios in May 2024, including Tango Gameworks. Founded by Shinji Mikami, the creator of Resident Evil, in 2010, the studio produced The Evil Within series and Ghostwire Tokyo. In 2023, they introduced Hi-Fi Rush, which received widespread critical praise. Acquired by Xbox in 2021 through a $7.5 billion deal with Zenimax, Tango Gameworks became part of the Xbox family.

Following Microsoft's unexpected news, Krafton, the company behind PUBG, purchased Tango Gameworks and its Hi-Fi Rush intellectual property from Xbox in August as part of a "strategic agreement."

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz after the acquisition, Maria Park, Krafton's corporate development head, stated: "Upon learning about Tango Gameworks’ potential closure, our team promptly visited Tokyo. We realized Tango’s remarkable legacy of innovation and its dedicated following. Initially, we were unsure if their tradition of excellence could persist, especially after founder Shinji Mikami's exit. However, our concerns were alleviated during our visit."
