Fortnite makes a comeback on iOS in the United States and Europe

After a five-year absence, Fortnite has made its way back to Apple's App Store on iOS.
This development occurred shortly following Epic Games' legal action against Apple, prompted by Apple's rejection of Epic's latest submission of Fortnite.
Apple communicated to Epic Sweden that they had to resubmit without incorporating the American App Store (as noted by the Associated Press), but a federal judge insisted Apple adhere to the prior court ruling.
This ruling, issued on May 1, 2025, by the Northern District of California, stipulated that Apple could not charge for app purchases outside its store.
According to TechCrunch, US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers demanded that Apple justify ignoring the court's directive.
Judge Rogers stated, "Apple is fully capable of resolving this issue without further briefing or a hearing."
On May 20, Epic announced Fortnite's return to the App Store. As reported by The Guardian, Apple confirmed the issue had been settled.
The dispute between Epic and Apple traces back to 2020 when Apple removed Fortnite from its platform, alleging Epic sidestepped its payment policies.
This led Epic to file a lawsuit, initiating ongoing legal proceedings between the firms.
