Fireshine Games, a publisher based in the United Kingdom, has brought Jasper Tanner-Barnes on board as its chief portfolio officer.

This newly introduced position entails Tanner-Barnes being responsible for securing and sustaining partnerships, as well as managing Fireshine's strategy for their portfolio, acquisitions, and business development efforts.

In a conversation with GamesIndustry.biz, Tanner-Barnes remarked, "Fireshine has demonstrated its ability to identify promising opportunities."

He further noted, "As CPO, my duty involves advancing this progress: crafting a strategic blueprint that equally favors innovative ventures and judicious, careful investment to expand our label."

Additionally, Tanner-Barnes expressed, "Besides strategic development, I value authentic leadership – characterized by accountability to both our team at Fireshine and our development partners, and I am excited to align with a firm that embodies these ideals."

Improving the distribution of Fireshine's digital lineup is another area of focus for Tanner-Barnes.

He stated, "While we have a long-standing history of supporting the physical distribution of many notable indie games, our current emphasis is on enhancing digital publishing with equal dedication,"

He continued, "With upcoming titles like Pulsatrix Studios' A.I.L.A and Weird Beluga's Duskfade, we're reevaluating what contemporary publishing might entail."

Tanner-Barnes has a background with Team17, where he served as talent acquisition manager and head of game scouting.

His previous roles also included working as a talent acquisition specialist at Ubisoft Leamington and as a technical recruitment manager at Sega Hardlight.

Brian Foote, Fireshine CEO, said, "We're thrilled to have Jasper join Fireshine Games."

"His expertise, enthusiasm, and knowledge will enable us to foster closer connections with developers and partners, paving the way for Fireshine Games' future endeavors."

Established in 2014, Fireshine Games came into being after rebranding from Sold Out Games. Earlier this year, Brian Foote took over as CEO following the retirement of James Cato.
