"Lesta Games" and Astrum Entertainment have entered the top 100 largest technology companies in Russia
The Smart Ranking agency compiled a list of the top one hundred Russian tech companies focusing on digital platforms and ecosystems that achieved the highest revenue in 2024, which includes game developers.
Among the gaming companies, “Lesta Games” performed best. As previously reported, last year it earned 35 billion rubles. According to Smart Ranking, this is 821.1% more compared to 2022. This amount allowed “Lesta Games” to rank 28th on the list.
Another gaming company in the top list is Astrum Entertainment, which placed much lower at the 68th spot. Its revenue for 2024 amounted to 4.8 billion rubles, which is 47% less than in 2022.
Additionally, there are several companies on the list for which games are one of the business areas, but not the main focus. These include:
- “Yandex” — first place (1.09 trillion rubles);
- VK — ninth place (147.6 billion rubles);
- 1C — 16th place (75 billion rubles).
According to Smart Ranking, collectively, all companies in the top 100 in 2024 earned 6.7 trillion rubles. In two years, their total revenue increased by 95%.
It is noteworthy that “Lesta Games” is currently at the center of a high-profile investigation. In April, the RF Prosecutor General’s Office accused its owner Malik Khatazhayev of extremism and demanded the company be seized in favor of the state. At the request of the agency, all Russian legal entities of "Lesta Games" were arrested. Khatazhayev denies the allegations: he and his company are actively cooperating with law enforcement agencies in hopes of resolving the issue as soon as possible.
