"Lesta Games" and Astrum Entertainment made it into the top 100 largest technology companies in Russia
The Smart Ranking agency compiled a list of one hundred Russian technology companies with a focus on digital platforms and ecosystems that achieved the highest revenue in 2024. This list also includes game developers.
Among gaming companies, "Lesta Games" performed the best. As reported previously, it earned 35 billion rubles last year. According to Smart Ranking, this is 821.1% more compared to 2022. The amount earned allowed "Lesta Games" to secure the 28th spot on the list.
Another gaming company on the list is Astrum Entertainment, which is much lower on the list, taking the 93rd place. Its revenue for 2024 amounted to 4.8 billion rubles, which is 47% less compared to 2022.
The list also includes several companies for which games are one of the business directions, but not the main one. Among them are:
- Yandex — first place (1.09 trillion rubles);
- VK — ninth place (147.6 billion rubles);
- 1C — 16th place (75 billion rubles).
According to Smart Ranking, in total all companies in the top 100 earned 6.7 trillion rubles in 2024. Over two years, their cumulative revenue grew by 95%.
It should be noted that "Lesta Games" is currently at the center of a loud controversy. In April, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation accused its owner Malik Khatazhaev of extremism and sought to seize the company in favor of the state. At the agency's request, all Russian legal entities of "Lesta Games" were arrested. Khatazhaev denies any wrongdoing: he and his company are actively cooperating with law enforcement in the hope of resolving the situation as soon as possible.
