A new initiative named Spawn Point has been introduced in Trondheim, Norway, aimed at boosting nascent independent game developers. It offers guidance, expert insights, and networking opportunities for participants.

This accelerator is in the midst of its second "experimental window" year. Initially, the program was largely sustained by public funding and provided support to five developer studios.

The studios benefiting from this support include Lugn Games, Tooth Games, Shadowfay Games, Graybox Software, and HiPhi Games.

From October of last year, these companies have engaged in monthly workshops and expert-led sessions. Notable industry figures such as Jen MacLean (CEO of Dragon Snacks Games), Susie McBeth (CMO of Raw Fury), Ivan Carillo (Joystiq Ventures), and Jon Grande (Amazon Games' head of product) have shared their expertise.

Linn Søvig, who manages the Spawn Point project, stated, "We initiated Spawn Point because of the immense talent among Norwegian developers, yet the industry lacks the robust support it requires to endure varying challenges."

Søvig continued, "Spawn Point is designed as a rejuvenating space where developers can reevaluate their strategies, decide whether to focus on their current projects, or consider service-based ventures, with the help of strategic and market-informed feedback."
