Fandom has transferred ownership of the Giant Bomb website and video platform to its seasoned team members, Jeff Bakalar and Jeff Grubb.

The details of the financial arrangement remain undisclosed.

This development comes after a recent announcement by Fandom that described Giant Bomb's 'strategic reset', prompted by a clash over new guidelines for content, resulting in staff departures. The news stirred significant buzz on BlueSky.

With the transfer, Grubb and Bakalar now control the brand and its activities, which are financially backed by the audience.

"Giant Bomb is now under the ownership of those who produce it. Fandom and we reached a quick consensus on prioritizing the interests of our fans and creators," stated Bakalar and Grubb in a joint announcement.

They added, "The support of our community has always been unwavering, and this gives us the responsibility to ensure their contributions directly empower our team. More details will come later."

Fandom, which also owns GameSpot, characterized the decision as a strategy to return Giant Bomb to its independent foundations. The company is assured of the brand's continuity under Bakalar and Grubb's stewardship.

Established in 2008 by ex-GameSpot employees after Jeff Gerstmann's controversial dismissal, Giant Bomb has etched a significant presence in the industry.
