Rockstar reports that the new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI has broken viewing records
The recently released second trailer for "Grand Theft Auto 6" achieved an impressive milestone, having been viewed over 475 million times on various platforms within just 24 hours, as reported by Rockstar Games. This view count surpasses the trailers for major films such as Deadpool & Wolverine and Fantastic Four: First Steps.
As shared with The Hollywood Reporter, Rockstar claims this is the largest video launch ever. In contrast, the initial Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, which debuted in 2023, accumulated 93 million views during its first day, quickly setting a new YouTube record for video game trailers.
In terms of competition, the trailers for Deadpool & Wolverine and Fantastic Four garnered 365 million and 200 million views respectively.
The inclusion of The Pointer Sisters' song "Hot Together" in the trailer has also led to a massive 182,000% increase in its streams on Spotify.
The much-anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for May 26, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. This follows a rescheduling from its initial 2025 launch plan.
