The sequel will be an arena shooter in the signature pixel style. According to the developers, they have decided to significantly alter the mechanics in Pixel Gun 2. Additionally, the game will feature cross-progression support, more responsive controls, improved matchmaking, as well as new maps and modes.
Unlike the original game, Pixel Gun 2 will be released simultaneously on PC and mobile devices. It's worth noting that it took Pixel Gun 3D 11 years to make it to PC. The exact release date is still unknown, but it is expected to happen in early 2026.
The studio plans to distribute Pixel Gun 2 for free.
Cubic Games emphasized that they do not intend to abandon Pixel Gun 3D after the sequel's release. They will continue to regularly release updates with new content for the first game in the series.
As part of the announcement, Cubic Games also shared some figures regarding Pixel Gun 3D. The studio reported that:
- Pixel Gun 3D's revenue has exceeded $230 million;
