Epic Games plans to introduce online stores for developers
After a favorable court decision against Apple, Epic Games is set to introduce a new feature allowing developers to set up webshops. This was announced by Epic Games following their recent legal success.

According to a post on their website, these webshops will be managed via the Epic Game Store, giving developers the ability to facilitate purchases outside of apps. In addition, an update to their revenue-sharing model was announced. For every application, developers won't pay any revenue share on the initial $1 million earned annually. After reaching this threshold, developers will revert to the standard 12% revenue share.
These new implementations are slated to be available by June 2025.
The changes are a direct result of an injunction from the Northern District of California Court, stopping Apple from imposing fees on out-of-app purchases. This ruling, effective immediately, also involves charges of criminal contempt against Apple and its finance vice president, Alex Roman.
With these developments, it has been confirmed by Epic's CEO Tim Sweeney through social media that Fortnite will make its return to the U.S. App Store next week.
Tim Sweeney remarked, "Epic proposes a resolution: If Apple broadens the court-mandated framework that removes the Apple tax globally, we’ll bring Fortnite back to the App Store worldwide and cease ongoing and future legal proceedings on this matter."
