Blizzard and MY.GAMES were fined 600,000 rubles each in Russia

The Moscow court has imposed administrative fines on Blizzard Entertainment and MY.GAMES. This was reported by TASS, citing a statement from the court's press service.

The reason for the fines was the "failure to fulfill the obligations of information dissemination organizers (IDO) on the Internet." Both companies are now required to pay 600,000 rubles each to the Russian treasury.

Exactly what the developers failed to do was not specified in the TASS material. However, judging by the wording of Part 1.1 of Article 13.31 of the Russian Administrative Code (which the developers violated), they most likely ignored Roskomnadzor's requirement to notify the start of work as an IDO and refused inclusion in the corresponding registry several times. The App2Top editorial team indeed did not find Blizzard Entertainment or MY.GAMES in the IDO registry.

It is worth noting that companies listed in the registry are obliged to store data about users and their activities in Russia for six months, including chat history. They must also provide this data to the FSB and other authorized state bodies when necessary. Violators risk having their services blocked in Russia.

Representatives of Blizzard Entertainment and MY.GAMES have not publicly commented on the situation.
