Anbernic, a company known for producing retro game consoles, has halted shipments to the United States due to tariffs

The Chinese company Anbernic, known for its retro handheld gaming devices, has paused shipments to the United States due to tariffs placed by the administration of former President Donald Trump. This decision was noted in a policy update on Anbernic's official website, informing customers about the newly imposed import taxes.

Anbernic announced, "Due to changes in US tariff policies, we will be suspending all orders shipping from China to the United States." They advise buyers to opt for products from their US warehouse, as those items are unaffected by these tariffs and "can be purchased with confidence."

The company assured customers they would be informed of any updated import duty alterations and that a revised shipping policy would be available on their website.

As reported by The Verge, Anbernic typically ships its new releases directly from China, afterward stocking additional consoles in their US facility. Although customers currently cannot purchase directly from Anbernic, these consoles remain accessible on sites like Amazon.

Established in 2017 by Shenzhen YangLiMing Electronic Technology Co., Anbernic introduced the Retro Games series, China's inaugural open-source handheld gaming console. Since then, the company has developed over 30 different console models capable of emulating systems such as NES, Sega Genesis, Game Boy, SNES, PlayStation, Nintendo 64, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo DS.
