A total of 40 million people have played Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Ubisoft has shared updated figures regarding the player base of two games from the Assassin’s Creed series — Origins and Odyssey. They officially announced that each game has surpassed 40 million players.
Assassin’s Creed Origins
It took seven and a half years for Assassin’s Creed Origins to reach this milestone, while Assassin’s Creed Odyssey achieved it in six and a half years.
It is worth mentioning that fewer people actually purchased these games. Many users became familiar with both Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey through various subscription services. Ubisoft has also frequently held free weekend events.
In its announcement, Ubisoft did not reveal the current player count for Assassin’s Creed Shadows — the latest entry in the series. Instead, the company mentioned that in its first four weeks post-launch, the new game attracted more players than its predecessors in the same timeframe.
Recall that by the end of its first week, the audience of Assassin’s Creed Shadows surpassed 3 million players.
