Ian Livingstone, a seasoned figure in the gaming industry, has been appointed as the ambassador for PlanetPlay

PlanetPlay, a nonprofit organization, has expanded its Make Green Moves initiative by appointing three new ambassadors, including Ian Livingstone, a stalwart of the gaming industry.

Joining Livingstone are actress Briana Evigan and Formula E champion Pascal Wehrlein. These ambassadors will support the campaign by contributing to game content and increasing engagement through appearances at industry events and panels.

Thus far, the Make Green Moves initiative has generated $2.2 million directed entirely towards environmental efforts.

Looking ahead, PlanetPlay is set to collaborate with Summer Game Fest 2025 to create the Green Games Showcase, promoting environmentally-focused games through live streaming.

The organization noted that studios can participate by making donations, introducing green game updates, or showcasing eco-friendly games as part of the initiative.

PlanetPlay aims to collect $300,000 by June 30, 2025, with funds allocated to habitat restoration in Timor-Leste, in partnership with WithOneSeed.

"Games have the potential to fuel imagination and inspire future generations," remarked Ian Livingstone. "With PlanetPlay, we can leverage gaming to make a positive environmental impact."

CEO Rhea Loucas of PlanetPlay emphasized the role of video games in fostering global connections and encouraging change. She stated, "This Earth Month, along with Earth Day, we are amplifying our initiatives to empower gamers in making impactful green decisions."
