The studio behind the parkour simulator Supermoves shut down following the game's failure
The Finnish indie studio Makea Games has ceased to exist after three years of operation. It decided to close its doors due to the low popularity of its debut game, Supermoves: World of Parkour.
Supermoves: World of Parkour
The CEO and founder of the studio, Tomi Toikka, explained in a farewell letter that since the release on Steam in August 2024, the parkour simulator was played by around 50,000 people. For a project with multiplayer mode, this number is low. As a result, users hoping to sprint alongside other players often found themselves with no one to play with — the lobbies were empty.
The lack of audience interest in Supermoves: World of Parkour is confirmed by statistics from SteamDB. According to these statistics, the peak number of players simultaneously on the parkour simulator was just 50. Nevertheless, the game holds a "very positive" rating on Steam, with 85% of 67 reviews praising it.

According to Toikka, Makea Games continued to develop the game to the very end but ultimately concluded that Supermoves: World of Parkour would not be sufficiently successful in the long term. The challenging situation in the gaming industry also impacted the studio's operations.
On the eve of Makea Games' closure, the studio employed around 20 staff members.
