Teruyuki Toriyama, known for his work on Bloodborne, has teamed up with past colleagues Tomohiro Suzuki and Hideki Irie to launch a new venture, "world class development studio," called Sirius Studio.

According to a report by Famitsu (courtesy of VGC), Sirius is a new segment under the Gz Group umbrella that intends to emphasize "creator independence." This follows the trio's departure from Thirdverse, which is now focused more on casual gaming experiences.

"We were members of a team involved in producing sophisticated games at Thirdverse's Japan studio," Irie noted through an automated interpretation. "Recently, Thirdverse opted to concentrate on casual games instead."

"Given our original commitment to high-quality game development, we decided to amicably part ways with [Thirdverse CEO Hironao Kunimitsu]," Irie added.

The Tokyo-based company is set to concentrate on console and VR/XR games, creating both new and third-party intellectual properties intended to "captivate users."
