The Minecraft soundtrack to be preserved in the U.S. Library of Congress
The Library of Congress has decided for the second time in its history to include culturally significant video game music in its collection. This time, it has chosen the soundtrack from Minecraft.

The collection will include an album titled Minecraft — Volume Alpha, composed by Daniel Rosenfeld.
Along with the Minecraft soundtrack, the Library of Congress collection will feature the Windows startup sound, the original recording of the musical "Hamilton," the song My Heart Will Go On performed by Céline Dion, and 21 other compositions.
It's worth recalling that the first video game whose music was preserved by the Library of Congress was Super Mario Bros. Its theme was added to the collection in 2023.
