The Minecraft soundtrack set to be included in the US National Recording Registry
The soundtrack for Minecraft is set to be enshrined in the US National Recording Registry.

Daniel Rosengeld composed Minecraft: Volume Alpha, which will now be preserved alongside the Microsoft reboot chime by British musician Brian Eno.
This marks the second video game soundtrack to be preserved by the registry. The first was the Super Mario Bros. theme, added in 2023.
"These are the sounds of America – our wide-ranging history and culture," commented Carla Hayden, the Librarian of Congress.
"The Library of Congress is proud to choose these invaluable audio pieces that merit preservation, spanning iconic music across genres, historical field recordings, sports history, and even everyday technology sounds."
Previously, Minecraft was included in the Dataspelsbranschen’s Game Culture Canon in Sweden, an initiative led by the Swedish Minister for Culture, Parisa Liljestrand, to develop an official cultural canon for the nation.
Moreover, the Minecraft movie adaptation recently grossed $157 million at the US box office on its debut weekend. The film, released on April 4, had a production budget of $150 million, and initial projections expected earnings between $70 million and $80 million.
