Astro Bot secures major victories at the 2025 BAFTA Game Awards

At the 2025 BAFTA Game Awards, the standout title was Astro Bot, which triumphed with five awards, including the prestigious Best Game accolade. The game, developed by Team ASOBI for the PS5, also earned accolades in Audio Achievement, Animation, Family, and Game Design categories.

The Chinese Room's British horror title, Still Wakes The Deep, distinguished itself with three awards. Actors Alec Newman and Karen Dunbar were both honored for their exceptional performances in the oil rig-set game.

The previous year's celebrated co-op game, Helldivers 2, secured two awards, claiming victories in the Multiplayer and Music categories.

A diverse array of games was acknowledged at the event, with titles like the card roguelike Balatro, the platformer Neva, and the narrative action game Senua's Saga: Hellblade II among those recognized for their achievements.

To qualify for this year's awards, games needed to have been released between November 25, 2023, and November 15, 2024.

Yoko Shimomura received the BAFTA Fellowship in recognition of her contributions to game music across numerous series, including Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade, and Final Fantasy.
