Pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 have been postponed in Canada

Due to ongoing considerations regarding tariffs in the United States, Nintendo has postponed the opening of Switch 2 pre-orders in Canada, which were initially planned for April 9. This decision aligns with the revised timing for the United States, where a new pre-order date has yet to be announced.
Despite these changes in pre-order schedules, the release date for the Switch 2 remains set for June 5. This was confirmed by Nintendo of Canada, who cited the US market's adjustments as the reason for the Canadian delay. A statement issued to MobileSyrup elaborated on this synchronization effort.
In response to the situation, Nintendo assured that further updates would follow as new dates are determined. The retail price for the Switch 2 in Canada will be CA$629.
The US tariffs, introduced by President Donald Trump, particularly affect goods produced in nations like Vietnam and Cambodia, where the Switch 2 is manufactured. These tariffs are slated to take effect on April 9, introducing challenges in the US distribution chain.
Contrastingly, pre-orders for the Switch 2 have commenced in other regions, such as Europe. Further announcements regarding the US pre-order schedule will be communicated in due course.
