Twin Sails Interactive has successfully achieved independence from the Asmodee Group through a "strategic management buyout". This transition retains the company's leadership, with Nicolas Godement continuing as CEO, Laurent Lichnewsky as production director, and Adrien Rotondo overseeing marketing.

Nicolas Godement expressed enthusiasm about this development, highlighting the valuable insights gained while part of Asmodee. "Now, as we embark on this new path independently, we are ready to embrace our future vision with renewed vigor," he stated.

Thomas Koegler, CEO of Asmodee, commented on the separation as a promising phase that allows both enterprises to flourish independently while maintaining their expertise. He anticipates ongoing success and creativity from Twin Sails Interactive, aiming to deliver novel and engaging experiences to the gaming community worldwide.

Established in 2016, Twin Sails Interactive rebranded from Asmodee Digital in 2022, originally serving as Asmodee's gaming branch. Known for its digital adaptations of board games like Gloomhaven, Terraforming Mars, and Catan, the publisher has expanded its portfolio to include games such as Ember Knights, Survival: Fountain of Youth, and News Tower.

Marketing director Adrien Rotondo emphasized their commitment to developing compelling games with distinct visual styles, aiming to build enduring brands through partnerships, updates, and sequels.

The prior parent entity, Asmodee, was purchased by Embracer Group in a €2.75 billion deal in 2021. Embracer underwent restructuring, resulting in its division into three entities, including Asmodee.

As part of Embracer’s extensive nine-month reorganization, three studios—Volition Games, Free Radical Design, and Campfire Cabal—were shut down, leading to over 1,400 job losses. Furthermore, they saw strategic sales like that of Saber Interactive and Gearbox to streamline their operations.
