Roblox has recently introduced enhancements to its parental controls with three new features aimed at enhancing child safety within its platform.

One significant update allows parents and guardians to block and report individuals on their child's friend list, effectively halting direct messages from these blocked contacts.

Additionally, parents can now restrict access to particular games and experiences—an upgrade from the previous option, which was limited to adjusting content maturity levels.

Roblox also offers a new feature that provides parents with a list of the top 20 activities their child has engaged in during the past week, allowing for certain experiences to be blocked if deemed inappropriate.

Moreover, spending limits can be set on a child’s account, alongside tools to manage privacy settings.

ConnectSafely CEO Larry Magid commented, "By providing tools that allow blocking of specific friends and experiences and offering insights into playtime, Roblox enables parents to support their children's safe use of the platform effectively."

For years, Roblox has equipped parents with tools to foster a safe environment while allowing children to enjoy the platform. These new safety features further enhance the security measures available to parents.

Roblox's updates to parental controls were announced in October 2024 and became effective in November. The updates include remote parental controls, revised communication settings, and added content labels.

The company also implemented rules for unrated experiences, while also limiting access to social venues and unregulated user-generated content.
