London has become the world's third-largest hub for game developers, following Los Angeles and San Francisco

According to recent research by Unscrambled and BOP for London, the city of London ranks as the third-largest global center for game development.
This assessment placed the UK capital just after Los Angeles and San Francisco in terms of workforce size, indicating significant growth in the gaming sector.
Previously recognized as the major hub in the UK and the largest in Europe, London's game development industry now employs 13,700 professionals, surpassing several major cities in North America, including notable locations like Montréal.
Additionally, there are 9,000 individuals engaged in related fields within London, such as those in the broader entertainment and animation sectors that integrate gaming aspects.
This announcement coincides with the launch of the tenth annual London Games Festival, commencing on April 2, featuring over 30 events and attracting numerous professionals and enthusiasts across the city.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan remarked, "London is now a global gaming capital and Europe’s leading city with a thriving industry bringing significant investment to our country."
He added, "I'm proud to support the London Games Festival, which is a great showcase for this dynamic and growing industry. As UK’s biggest games event, it generates millions for our economy and helps support our up-and-coming talent as we continue to build a better London for everyone."
