Eidos Montréal reduces workforce by 75 employees
Seventy-five employees have been let go by Eidos Montréal.
The company explained in a LinkedIn post that due to the conclusion of one mandate, there was a need to "let go up to 75 valuable members." The company clarified that this decision was "not a reflection of their dedication or skills" but rather a result of its inability to redeploy them to other ongoing projects and services.
The post also noted that these talented professionals will be entering the job market, with the company making efforts to assist them during this transition.
Eidos-Montréal remains committed to progressing with its other projects currently in the pipeline.
In 2022, Eidos was purchased by Embracer. Throughout 2023, Embracer reduced its workforce by over 900 employees. In January 2024, a further 97 employees were laid off.
Earlier today, reports surfaced that Cyan Worlds, creators of Myst, have also reduced their workforce by half.
