National Videogame Museum names new trustees

The National Videogame Museum (NVM) has introduced a fresh line-up of board members to support its governing charity, The BGI.

The newly appointed trustees will join in two groups, with the first set having started in March 2025 and the subsequent members coming on board in November 2025.

These board members are expected to enhance the museum's governance capabilities and assist in fulfilling its strategic objectives.

The incoming trustees bring a wealth of experience from diverse sectors, including video game development, cultural management, brand strategy, and tech innovation.

Situated in Sheffield, NVM aims to leverage the expertise of its new board to raise its profile and better emphasize video games culture to its stakeholders and the broader industry.

The trustees entering their roles include:

  • David Barrie, founder and CEO of Game Academy
  • Joe Chetcuti, creative director of Creative Assembly
  • Emma Cooper, creative industries expertise manager at Innovate UK
  • Natalie Kane, digital design curator at The V&A
  • Nick Poole, UK Interactive Entertainment's chief executive

The upcoming additions to the board are:

  • Brian Baglow, founding figure behind Scottish Games Week
  • John Booth, senior director at Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Emily Britt, senior manager of communications at Sharkmob
  • Jess Gaskell, PMO director at Sumo Digital

Claire Boissiere, NVM's chair of the board of trustees, expressed enthusiasm for the new appointments: "We are honored to welcome these distinguished individuals to our board. Their extensive knowledge and experience will serve as a vital resource as we pursue new directions and expand our influence nationally. We eagerly anticipate the contributions their innovative ideas will deliver for the museum's evolution.

She also extended gratitude to the outgoing trustees, whose leadership and guidance have been instrumental to the museum's past achievements.
