The gaming publication, Game Informer, has made a comeback after its closure by GameStop in August 2024. According to a statement from editor-in-chief Matt Miller, Gunzilla Games has acquired the publication.

Game Informer now operates independently as Game Informer Inc., after Gunzilla Games secured the rights to the brand's name. The previously dismissed team has been reinstated, and the website has been brought back with its archival content. Previously, the shutdown resulted in a loss of access to the articles, preventing the staff from preserving their work.

"From the outset, the new proprietors were committed to maintaining Game Informer as an autonomous editorial entity," Miller noted.

He added that the new leadership shared a belief with the editorial team that the only future for them was one where they make all editorial decisions independently, without any external influences.

The renewed focus aims to spotlight exciting games, commemorate the evolution of the gaming scene, and highlight the game creators and players shaping its future. Miller expressed profound appreciation for Gunzilla Games' faith in the publication and its commitment to ethical standards and independence.
