Capcom’s latest title, Monster Hunter Wilds, has achieved the highest position on Circana's US gaming charts for February and currently holds the title of the best-selling game for the year 2025. Dominating both PlayStation and Xbox sales charts, over 50% of its transactions took place on Steam.

Circana indicates that Monster Hunter Wilds' initial month sales vastly exceeded those of Monster Hunter Rise, released in March 2021. Within three days of its launch, Monster Hunter Wilds sold 8 million copies, setting a new record for Capcom's fastest-selling game.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, developed by Warhorse Studios, obtained the second slot, with its sales ranking similarly on both PlayStation and Xbox. Its debut month sales outpaced the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance’s February 2018 launch revenue by over five times. Upon its February 4, 2025, release, it recorded a million sales within 24 hours and reached 2 million units in under two weeks.

Civilization 7, PGA Tour 2K25, Avowed, and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii are among the other recent entries in the Top Ten, securing positions 3, 4, 7, and 8, respectively. Notably, Avowed also achieved the sixth position in Xbox's engagement rankings.

In mobile gaming, Monopoly Go continued its lead, with Last War: Survival rising in the ranks and surpassing Roblox in monthly US mobile expenditures. Samuel Aune from Sensor Tower pointed out, "Last War: Survival witnessed a 17% month-to-month increase in in-app purchase earnings, while Royal Match and Roblox had around 9% declines." He also noted the presence of two Pokémon games in the Top Ten was unprecedented for the same intellectual property.

US consumer expenditure in February decreased by 6% compared to the previous year, totaling $4.5 billion. Year-to-date spending has seen an 11% decline compared to the same timeframe in 2024, dropping to $9 billion, with video game content spending down 4% to $4 billion.

Hardware sales experienced a significant 25% decrease, landing at $256 million, marking the lowest February figures since 2020, which stood at $184 million. PlayStation 5 sales are 7% ahead of PlayStation 4 after 52 months in the market, whereas Xbox Series X|S trails Xbox One by 19%.
