Recent reports indicate that Ubisoft has put in place an "anti-harassment plan" aimed at developers connected to Assassin's Creed Shadows.

According to information shared by PCGamesN, a Ubisoft worker anonymously informed the French media outlet BFMTV that this strategy is being used to dissuade team members from publicizing their association with the project on social media platforms.

The source mentioned the 'comité social et économinque', which is a body created by Ubisoft Canada staff.

The source explained (as translated by PCGamesN), "This initiative stems from Canada. There is now a dedicated team to control networks and respond quickly to any targeted attacks. This approach is much more serious than before."

The findings indicate that social media content will be "scrutinized by a specific unit" and legal measures are ready to be taken if harassment is confirmed.

Commenting on this, a Ubisoft representative explained to PCGamesN that ensuring the wellbeing of its workforce is of paramount importance.

The spokesperson elaborated, "While we respect that the social media accounts belong to our team members, our central concern is their security, both offline and online. We provide advice on using social platforms safely, digital protection, and support for our workers' overall health.

"In addition, we offer resources to avert and defend against digital harassment, an issue our teams regrettably have had to confront."

This article initially claimed that Ubisoft collaborated with Canada's Communications Security Establishment, but the source mentioned a team created by Ubisoft Canada employees. This has been rectified.
