"Star Wars: Hunters" is set to be discontinued later this year
The multiplayer arena shooter "Star Wars: Hunters," created by Zynga and its subsidiary NaturalMotion, is set to be terminated less than a year after its release.
Players will be able to download and play the free-to-play game until October 1, 2025, when its servers will be shut down.
According to a statement on their official site, developers expressed regret over this decision, stating, "We understand this news may be disappointing and we want to assure you that this decision was not made lightly." They also acknowledged the community's enthusiasm and assured continued updates as the game winds down.
As part of its conclusion, Season 5 will commence on March 25, 2025, and be extended by three weeks.
The ultimate update across all platforms—Switch, iOS, and Android—will arrive on April 15, 2025, with in-game purchasing capabilities deactivated from that date.
The FAQ section on the game's site clarifies that any unused in-game currency bought by players will not be refundable.
