The iconic 90s video game publisher Acclaim has been revived, with a focus on supporting independent games and reviving beloved franchises. This revival is led by Alex Josef, who was previously the CEO and founder of Graffiti Games. Acclaim's mission is to assist indie developers by providing necessary funding, marketing, and public relations support.

The company has assembled a board of advisers that includes notable figures such as Russell Binder from Striker Entertainment, Mark Caplan of Ridge Partners, and Jeff Jarrett, a founder of Global Force Entertainment and a known wrestling figure. Their expertise will drive Acclaim’s new vision.

Key contributors to Acclaim's expansion include Phil Toronto of VaynerFund and Eric Vogel from Jet Management, contributing to the firm’s strategic growth approach. "Leading Acclaim’s resurgence in the gaming sector is both an honor and a thrill," remarked Alex Josef. "Our team is highly skilled, and we've already secured partnerships with some remarkable indie games ready for announcement soon."

Jeff Jarrett shared his enthusiasm, stating, "Having spent over 30 years in both wrestling and gaming, I'm excited to participate in Acclaim's comeback. From my work on its 16-bit WWF titles to shaping TNA Wrestling, I've witnessed the profound influence quality games have on audiences. This is a chance to bring that same enthusiasm and joy to a new generation."

Founded originally in 1987, Acclaim gained global recognition as a publisher, developer, and marketer. It was renowned for bringing popular series such as Mortal Kombat, Turok, and NBA Jam to home gaming systems, and was also famous for its adaptations of The Simpsons, Alien 3, Judge Dredd, and Batman Forever.
