Jagex has named Jon Bellamy as its new CEO
Jon Bellamy has been named the new CEO of Jagex.
Phil Mansell, who has led Jagex since 2017, will continue with the company for a transitional period to ensure a seamless handover.
With a background that includes roles at Huuuge Games and previous executive positions at Jagex, Bellamy has been a board member since 2024.
Marc Allera, chairman of Jagex, expressed gratitude, stating, "The board extends heartfelt thanks to Phil for his leadership and significant contributions to Jagex over the past 14 years."
"Under Phil’s direction, Jagex has experienced considerable change and growth, maintaining its player-focused philosophy. We witnessed a record number of Old School RuneScape players in Q4-2024. We wish Phil continued success in his future endeavors."
At this thrilling juncture, Jagex is poised to deliver premier gaming experiences and introduce novel content, such as the eagerly awaited Sailing skill in Old School RuneScape slated for 2025. Confidence is high that Jon’s leadership will ensure fulfilling and engaging gaming experiences for players.
Earlier this year, CVC Capital Partners and Haveli Investments announced their intention to acquire Jagex from Carlyle Group.
While the deal’s specifics were not shared publicly, a report from that period indicated that CVC might spend £900 million on this acquisition.
