Rockstar Games has completed the acquisition of Video Games Deluxe, which will now be operating under the new name Rockstar Australia
Rockstar Games has taken over the Sydney-based developer Video Games Deluxe and renamed it Rockstar Australia.

The company behind the re-releases of L.A. Noire and L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, as well as enhancements for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition, Video Games Deluxe now joins the ranks of Rockstar Games' international studios.
Brendan McNamara, who founded Video Games Deluxe, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition by stating, "It's been an honor to work closely with Rockstar Games this past decade. We are thrilled to be part of Rockstar Games and to continue our efforts to make the best games possible."
Jennifer Kolbe, the head of publishing at Rockstar Games, commented, "After working together closely for many years, we are excited to have Video Games Deluxe join the team as Rockstar Australia."
Established in 2013 by McNamara, formerly the creative director of Team Bondi, Video Games Deluxe carries forward the legacy of a studio known for delivering the 2011 detective game L.A. Noire, published by Rockstar.
The creation of L.A. Noire was marked by a lengthy development process, amid allegations of poor working conditions, leading to Team Bondi entering administration in 2011. This followed their separation from Rockstar over these controversies.
