The Ukrainian branch of 4A Games has adopted the new name Reburn, and is gearing up for its upcoming project, La Quimera.

According to Polygon, the game La Quimera is being developed in collaboration with filmmaker Nicolas Refn, known for works like "Drive" and "Only God Forgives," along with writer E.J.A. Warren.

La Quimera is a first-person shooter set within an imaginative Latin American city. The game will support single-player mode and co-op play with up to two additional players.

4A Games has clarified via social media that the studio itself has not undergone a name change and continues development on the next installment of the Metro game series.

"To clarify, there's no rebranding or changes with us," the company stated. "The founders and the essence of the Metro series are still actively engaged in developing the new Metro installment at our locations in Ukraine and Malta, as well as remotely.

We are simultaneously progressing with our other new intellectual property as previously communicated."

Dmytro Lymar, the founder and CEO of Reburn, mentioned that the trademark 4A Games Ukraine remains associated with the Metro series, while Reburn focuses on new projects.

"Through a creative agency in Kyiv, we arrived at the name Reburn," shared Lymar. "The name signifies 'burning again,' akin to a rebirth or reincarnation in crafting a fresh game with its own identity.

Nonetheless, we retain our foundational principles of creating games we ourselves would enjoy and valuing input from every team member."
